India-Russia Cooperation Agreement: India will order 600,000 Russia made AK203

Russian President Vladimir Putin made a one day state visit to India on December 6 and signed 28 cooperation agreements with India. One of the cooperation agreement involved ordering 600,000 AK-203 jointly made by Russia and India company in India. The agreement amount is about INR 50 billion, which equals to CNY 4.2 billion.

 

According to the agreement, India Army will order 750,000 pieces AK-203, and there are 70,000 amount pieces will be made by Russia gun parts, and the rest amount will be made in Uttar Pradesh in India. The number of these AK-203 will replace the INSAS firearms. It’s said that India and Russia has made the agreement for a long time, while they had lots of dispute about gun technology transfer.
